HB 2517

HB 2517: business professionals; regulation; restrictions

Sponsor: Representative Petersen

Summary: HB 2517 states that counties and municipalities are required to limit entry regulations to businesses to only public health, safety or welfare concerns. Additionally, these governmental entities would have to review all of their existing regulations, eliminate or modify any that do not meet this restriction and then report to the Legislature.

League Position: OPPOSE - The League opposes this bill because it would prohibit cities from issuing tax licenses to businesses and other necessary regulations that would not fall under the public health, safety and welfare definition.
