Summary: HB2497 requires that a municipality is required to allow telecommunications providers to install permitted microcell equipment in existing infrastructure. A municipality is prohibited from charging a recurring cost for microcell equipment.

League Position: OPPOSE - The League opposes this bill because of concerns about the control of rights-of-way. However, the League is participating in stakeholder meetings to ensure that municipalities' concerns are addressed.
