Municipal Budget and Finance Manual

This manual includes a description of Arizona's budget law, including the constitutional restrictions on expenditures and property tax revenues. A section describes the various options available to cities and towns under the expenditure limitation and there is a brief discussion of Arizona's public deposit (investment) law.

Municipal Election Manual
This is a "how to" manual for city and town clerks on the conduct of municipal elections. In addition to the sections on regular elections, procedures for a variety of special elections, including initiative, referendum and recall, are included.

State Shared RevenueState Shared Revenue
A preliminary estimate of shared revenues for each city and town is set forth in the State Shared Revenue Report. We obtained the total dollar figures on which these early estimates are based from the Department of Transportation (ADOT) and the Department of Revenue (DOR).

This style guide is a suggested resource for municipal employees who write for publications. It was developed to serve as a handy guide, and also to encourage consistency in publications with respect to style and word usage. It is based on references compiled from The Associated Press Stylebook (what most newspaper editors use as their editing resource), other state league style guides, and “When Words Collide: A Media Writer’s Guide to Grammar and Style.” It has been customized for League-specific usage. The League is pleased to announce that "History of the League: 1937-2007," a book documenting the first 70 years of the organization, is now available. Authored by former long-time League Executive Directors Jack DeBolske and Cathy Connolly, the project took more than three years to complete and highlights legislative achievements, work with notable local elected and appointed officials and organizational firsts from the last seven decades.
