HB 2008

House Bill (HB) 2008: S/E fireworks

Sponsor: Representative Shope

Overview: HB 2008 alters distance requirements for preserve lands and requires signage requirements.

League Position: OPPOSE - The League opposes this bill because it does not address concerns over wild lands and preserves.

Summary: HB 2008 alters distance requirements for preserve lands and requires signage requirements. There are numerous areas in the state that interface with the wild lands or preserves. The bill ignores these areas, but creates a carve out for preserves of only a certain size. There are also stipulations on signage where fireworks are sold.
